Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links WCS 2025 qualifiers report

In wake of the official WCS qualifier event that was hosted inside of the game Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links. The game is made by the company Konami who is responsible for the other popular Yu-Gi-Oh game, Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel but you would also know Konami for their other major titles such as the Metal Gear Solid franchise and Castlevania games. I am going to be talking about the results from that in-game event which decides who is going to the world championship between the days of August 30th and 31st in Paris, France, at the Maison de la Mutualité.

But in terms of the general metagame for this event it overwhelmingly was a deck that contained the archetype Shaddoll. The reason why this deck is so strong is because 2 reasons:
The recent addition a majority of the remaining shaddoll support minus El Shaddoll Winda
And the skill that they received solves everything about the archetype.
Shaddoll is a decklist that controls the battlefield with a myriad of flip effect monsters such as ones that bounce cards or destroy one monster the opponent controls.
But also this deck heavily relies on the fusion summoning mechanic into the decks ‘boss monsters’ also denoted as the El Shaddoll’s
In terms of its TCG/OCG history, it was an extremely potent deck along with 2 others in the Duelist Alliance format. But overtime it would mold into the realm of mon existence until february 13th 2020 when a new shaddoll structure deck released introducing some much needed reprints for the deck and 4 new card that severely helped the dec out, also they released 3-4 new cards over the next year.The final evolution of this deck was in later that year when the Dogmatika archetype first debuted in the TCG set Rise of the Duelist which release in the august of the same year the Shaddoll showdown structure deck released
It wasn’t a one man show there were other showings in the global top 100 such as Speedroids, Utopia and even one or 2 Ancient gear deck lists.
